- Last month saw radical teacher union operatives force themselves into the spotlight, as they participated in protests that sought to disparage and even disrupt immigration enforcement actions across the country. In Oregon, reportseven emerged that agitators at teacher union-backed protests brought children to “protests” that escalated into violent clashes with law enforcement. This kind of agitation was egged on by Randi Weingarten and Becky Pringle, who head up the AFT and NEA – the nation’s two largest teacher unions.
- Two bills that are rapidly advancing through the Virginia General Assembly would require school districts across the Old Dominion to give AFT and NEA union officials the same coercive control as they have in states where radical political agitation has sent shockwaves through communities.
Some school districts in Virginia have already voluntarily (if foolishly) granted union bosses power, including in Fairfax County where profligate funding demands from AFT-affiliated union bosses nearly bankrupted the County in 2025. But this new legislation would force Virginia school districts to hand union bosses this kind of power.
