Someone in the Epstein files identified investigative journalist Nick Bryant as a problem as early as 2011, according to a newly released email in which someone (redacted) warned multiple recipients—some of them redacted—that Bryant was “calling around again.” That single line, buried inside the Justice Department’s recent release of roughly three million pages of Epstein-related documents, may be the most revealing detail in the entire trove. It establishes that [Redacted] viewed Bryant as a serious threat years before the case became a public scandal, and years before most of the media, political class, or law enforcement showed sustained interest in the network surrounding him.

Yesterday, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz announced an “Action for Progress” initiative to address mental health and addiction.

- Final nail in Planned Parenthood coffin?
- Planned Parenthood announced it is voluntarily dropping its lawsuit challenging the Trump administration’s ability to withhold Medicaid payments under a provision in President Donald Trump’s tax bill.
- The organization sued in July after President Donald Trumpsigned a spending bill that included prohibiting federal funding from going to abortion providers, a section of the legislation that Planned Parenthood attorneys argued unfairly targeted their clinics and would leave patients with even fewer health care options.
- In December, a federal appeals court ruledthat the administration could continue to withhold Medicaid funding from Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers.
- A New York jury has awarded a detransitioner $2 million in the first medical malpractice suitof its kind to go to trial.
- The six-member Westchester County panel found that psychologist Kenneth Einhorn and surgeon Simon Chin disregarded “standards of care and procedural guardrails by pressuring” their patient, Fox Varian, then 15, “into addressing gender dysphoria with permanent surgery.”
Varian, now 22, is a biological girl who believed herself to be a boy for a time in her teenage years.

- Activist networks are swarming ICE and Border Patrol operations to force a lose-lose outcome—either agents stand down and look ineffective, or they act and hand opponents viral “excessive force” footage. Either way, immigration enforcement gets reframed as chaos, turning a Republican strength into a political liability.
- What’s striking is how many GOP leaders refuse to name this tactic. By focusing only on optics or de-escalation, they play directly into it. This isn’t organic outrage; it’s a classic provocation strategy designed to flip enforcement into scandal ahead of the midterms.

- President Trump went off on the Somali fraud scandal in the “rigged state” of Minnesota on Tuesday, highlighting the massive amount of taxpayer dollars that have been stolen through social services on Monday.

- In 2016, Somali welfare recipients were busted funneling millions of dollars in suitcases full of cash through Seattle, Washington, one of the states with the largest Somali populations in America. - While speaking to former DBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino, Trump said, “They have a country where they have no money, they have no nothing, and they come over here, and they steal, they’re able to steal more than $19 billion.” He then declared, “We’re right on their ass” as investigations into the fraud and complicity of state officials remain ongoing.
- Trump further slammed Somali immigrants, calling them “people that don’t work” and “people that are just not an asset to our society, to put it mildly.”

- A Chicagoarea teacher is on administrative leave and facing calls to lose his job over a Facebook post last week offering support for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Commonwealth of VA rejoins the RGGI. Former governor Youngkin removed VA from RGGI after he took office.
Last week, Governor Abigail Spanberger (D-VA), who ran a campaign based on affordability, including lower energy bills, announced that Virginia would be rejoining the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI), and thus imposing a new tax on residents. The RGGI is a regional cap-and-trade program in the Northeast that requires power plants to buy “allowances” to emit carbon dioxide. These allowance costs are naturally passed on to the consumer, inevitably raising electricity prices.
American Energy Alliance President Tom Pyle released the following statement:
“In December, we released a report giving an in-depth look at electricity prices. The data are clear: energy affordability is a policy problem, and blue states that pursue aggressive climate policies pay more. With her RGGI announcement this week, unfortunately, Gov. Spanberger is about to prove what we already know to be true.
“Cap-and-trade is just another name for a consumer tax, plain and simple. It affects not only energy affordability but also the reliability of the grid, as it makes adding and retaining baseload generation more difficult. With rising electricity bills, the importance of an affordable and reliable power grid should be Gov. Spanberger’s main focus. Instead, she remains fixated on pushing pointless, costly policies that Americans have repeatedly rejected.
“It is disappointing that any governor sees the RGGI as a path forward for their state, especially now when affordability is top of mind for all Americans. At the end of the day, the promotion of climate idealism may sound nice, but it does nothing to actually help American families pay their utility bills, and it does little for the environment.”
Gov. Spanberger’s predecessor, Gov. Glenn Youngkin, had pulled Virginia out of RGGI. According to former Gov. Youngkin, from the time Virginia originally joined RGGI to the time they left, residents paid $828 million in a regressive interstate tax applied to their power bills.
