  • Did Keir Starmer attempt to take credit for Trump’s 20-Point, peace plan? (Education Secretary, Bridget Phillipson on Sky News Sunday with Trevor Phillips.
  • Does the Gaza peace deal give Trump leverage to tackle Ukraine and Russia?
    • Until now, the idea of a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine has been dismissed as naïve—a diplomatic quagmire with no off-ramp. But Trump’s momentum abroad, coupled with renewed credibility among America’s allies, changes that calculus. “Peace in the Middle East gives Trump something no one else has had—political capital with proof,” says Gilson. “He can now say to Putin and Zelensky, ‘I’ve done this before. It works.’”
  • As the world watches the ink dry on the Middle East peace accord, Gilson urges analysts and citizens alike to keep their eyes on what comes next. “Trump has always seen patterns where others see chaos,” he explains. “If he can transform the world’s most volatile region into a stable one, then Russia and Ukraine aren’t beyond reach—they’re next in line.”
  • Yesterday, Conservatives in the UK marked the 100th birthday of former Prime Minister, (Lady) Margaret Thatcher. What do you remember most about writing speeches for Lady Thatcher?

    • Does today’s college age student really understand what a NAZI or fascist is?
  • The Federal Government is offering a “Golden Age” of academic excellence on higher education if colleges and universities enter into an agreement. Is this the responsibility of the Federal Government?
  • Is the Trump Administration finding it too difficult in cutting off tax dollars to these schools?
  • Is cleaning up “WOKE” in higher education a multi-generational problem?

Panelist:

Cornell University Law Professor, William A. Jacobsen.

Jacobson is author of the conservative law blog, Legal Insurrection.

In October 2017 William Jacobson, a professor of law at Cornell University and, as a conservative, something of an endangered species among Ivy League academics, was invited to deliver a lecture at Vassar College in upstate New York.

The event had been organized by a group of conservative students, and was intended to challenge the climate of repression at colleges and universities that had steadily banished views dissenting from the progressive orthodoxies. The title of the talk was “An Examination of Hate Speech and Free Speech on College Campuses”.

The notice of the event was met by unironic rage. Student groups organized to protest and object and try to have the talk cancelled. The Vassar authorities quickly sided with the protesters and the college president condemned the speech.

The lecture nevertheless went ahead, under heavy security. College administrators arranged for students both to protest and to retreat to “safe spaces” where they could be insulated from the offensive views. (Times of London)
