9:00 · Show Open: Netanyahu Signals Regime Change in Iran, and What Students Still Do Not Know About 9/11

Speaking at a government toast ahead of Rosh Hashanah, Netanyahu indicated Israel's operations against Iran are aimed at bringing about the regime's fall. Twenty five years after September 11, a survey of Middle East scholars says most doubt today's students can even identify who carried out the attacks.

  • Netanyahu said he is "determined to do this," adding that Israel is stronger than ever while its enemies are weaker than they have been.
  • "We are determined to defend ourselves; we are determined to strike our enemies," he continued, saying that while neither Iran nor any of Israel's enemies are attacking right now, they can "make a mistake" and "suffer a blow they don't even imagine."
  • His warning to Israel's enemies: "Don't mess with us. We know how to unite in times of difficulty, and it is currently the most powerful power in the Middle East."
  • Sundown September 11 marks the start of Rosh Hashanah. What is it like to be Jewish in the year 5787?
  • A new survey of 470 Middle East scholars finds 66% lack confidence that today's students can correctly identify who carried out the September 11 attacks or adequately understand their causes.
  • Two thirds also said academic scholarship has at times provided intellectual cover for regimes, groups or ideologies hostile to the United States.
  • 71% say academia is worse at pursuing truth than it was 25 years ago, and younger academics report greater pressure to self censor and conform.
  • The survey was commissioned by the Association for the Study of the Middle East and Africa, with analysis provided by Scholars for Peace in the Middle East.
  • Dr. Romirowsky, we are approaching the 3rd anniversary of the October 7th attacks. Do you suspect the very same ideology is getting into classrooms?
  • Israel on Monday threatened a full scale war against the Palestinian Authority if it believed the West Bank based body was preparing an attack resembling Hamas's October 7, 2023 assault. Palestinian authorities denounced the warning as an attempt to fuel the conflict during Israeli election season.
  • Israel is preparing for such an attack. Might Iran strike on October 7th, and what are the chances?
  • What are your recollections of the 1973 Yom Kippur War, and what were the lessons for America and for Israel?

9:20 · Iran Declares an Exclusion Zone, Washington Turns the Screws at the UN

Iran has announced an exclusion zone outside the Strait of Hormuz, and the United States is set to escalate diplomatic pressure with a UN resolution over blocked nuclear inspections. Tehran says it will retaliate.

  • Captain Murphy, what was your reaction to Iran announcing an exclusion zone outside the Strait of Hormuz?
  • Washington is set to increase diplomatic pressure within days with a proposed UN resolution demanding Iran urgently remedy its failure to comply and restore access for nuclear inspections, Bloomberg reported Monday.
  • According to a two page draft obtained by the outlet, the United States is also looking to refer Iran to the UN Security Council over its moves to block International Atomic Energy Agency monitoring.
  • The resolution, backed by European members of the IAEA board, also highlights support for a diplomatic solution and encourages all parties to constructively engage in diplomacy.
  • Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei warned Monday that Tehran would retaliate if the UN nuclear watchdog adopts the measures.
  • Democrats in the House are mulling impeaching President Trump and Secretary of War Hegseth should they take control of the House next year. They are even campaigning on removing Hegseth. What do America's enemies take from that?

10:00 · Illegal Immigration in Europe: Is It Country Stealing?

Protests have spread across the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. Irish lobbyist Peter Connelly joins Jake to argue that what is happening across continental Europe, the UK and Ireland is not migration but the transfer of a country.

"We declare the right of the people of Ireland to the ownership of Ireland and to the unfettered control of Irish destinies, to be sovereign and indefeasible. The long usurpation of that right by a foreign people and government has not extinguished the right, nor can it ever be extinguished except by the destruction of the Irish people." (Proclamation of the Irish Republic, 24 April 1916)

  • Peter, what is behind and who is behind the flooding of continental Europe, the UK and Ireland with massive numbers of illegal immigrants, largely young military age men?
  • We first became aware of the protests in the Republic of Ireland and in Northern Ireland. What triggered them?
  • This did not begin yesterday. Has the flow accelerated in recent years?
  • Some are predicting civil war, and you in particular are calling attention to the Proclamation of the Irish Republic, your version of our Declaration of Independence. What happens when the Irish become a minority in their own country?
  • I believe the EU is behind this, but who is pulling their strings? Is it the globalists?
  • How has life changed for you in Ireland?
  • We have been monitoring here in the United States the systematic targeting of Irish citizens because of their speech and their opinions. Is that linked?

10:30 · Cheap Oil, Record Diesel, and Detroit's Battery Pivot

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent says oil could fall to $40 a barrel once the Iran conflict ends. Meanwhile diesel has topped $5.90 a gallon and the crunch is forecast to last all winter. Could a steep drop in crude cause big problems for US producers?

  • Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent predicted oil prices could fall to between $40 and $50 per barrel once the Iran conflict ends, arguing abundant supply is poised to hit the market once constraints ease.
  • Diesel prices in the United States have broken records, topping $5.90 per gallon this month. Fuel prices are soaring worldwide as the squeeze reaches end consumers, prompting governments to implement emergency relief such as fuel tax cuts.
  • Diesel shortages are expected to last through the coming winter. What is behind them?
  • The EV bust is offering Detroit an opening. Ford and GM are repurposing underused EV battery capacity for energy storage, seeking new revenue after taking billions of dollars in EV related write downs.
  • AI data centers and grid reliability are fueling booming battery storage demand, with Ford targeting at least 20 GWh of annual deployments by late 2027.
  • US energy storage installations are surging, hitting a record 20.2 GWh in Q2 2026 as utilities race to meet rising electricity demand.

11:00 · The Biden Blunders Behind Drug Price Controls

Phil Kerpen and Stephen Moore argue the comically misnamed Inflation Reduction Act imposed government price controls on prescription drugs, and that the Biden administration then made the regime far worse in practice than it was on paper.

  • The law replaced the old noninterference principle, which used market average prices to set drug reimbursement, with a scheme letting the Secretary of Health and Human Services directly set prices through a sham negotiation. A manufacturer must agree or face a punitive seizure via a tax equal to 95% of the product's total sales.
  • That undermines the return on the investment of billions of dollars required to develop a new drug and bring it to market, resulting in fewer new cures and treatments.
  • Biden's Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services expanded the scheme's scope by ignoring the statute's clear lines in at least three ways.
  • First, drugs with biosimilar competition are exempt because they already face intense price competition. The Biden CMS instead used biosimilar prices as comparators to justify more stringent controls.
  • Second, CMS took the statutory term therapeutic alternatives and, without meaningful public input, built an entire pricing system that appears nowhere in the statute, benchmarking cutting edge complex cancer drugs against old style chemotherapy agents.
  • Third, CMS bundled two insulins approved 17 years apart and called them one drug to clear the minimum sales threshold. Neither product qualified on its own, setting a precedent that nearly any drug could be dragged in through a bundling backdoor.
  • Aggregate small molecule investment by smaller biotech companies has already fallen by 68% since the IRA passed. Investment targeting Medicare aged populations dropped 74%.
  • A proposed rule released on June 12 would codify the Biden era guidance into law.
  • The asks: halt Round 3 of price control negotiations before prices are set under Biden era rules, announce Round 4 selections will not proceed under the old methodology, restrict therapeutic alternatives to clinically appropriate substitutable drugs, restore market based competition criteria, and reassign the Biden era personnel driving the program.
  • The authors also back fundamental FDA reforms, pro growth tax policy, strong global protection of intellectual property, and direct pay sales channels as an alternative to opaque insurer and PBM schemes.

11:30 · Citizen Only Voting: Should It Be in the Constitution?

Some jurisdictions have moved to legally permit noncitizens to vote in certain local elections, which is a separate question from illegal noncitizen voting. Americans for Citizen Voting argues the ambiguity should be settled in the Constitution rather than fought state by state.

  • Does America need to clarify the distinction between illegal noncitizen voting and jurisdictions that have moved to legally permit noncitizens to participate in certain elections?
  • Current constitutional language creates too much ambiguity around citizen only voting.
  • Is there a growing movement at the state level to explicitly place citizen only voting language in state constitutions?
  • House Res. 152 is a proposed constitutional amendment stating that only US citizens may vote in federal elections. Where does it stand?
  • Why does Americans for Citizen Voting argue the issue should be settled constitutionally rather than state by state? Is that not more time consuming?
  • Could close midterm races increase scrutiny of voter eligibility and public confidence in election rules?

Guest: Jack Tomczak, VP of Outreach at Americans for Citizen Voting.
