Latest economic news from Washington, just days from the midterms was good news-bad news!
Fed’s preferred inflation gauge rose in September as third-quarter GDP beats expectations!
What does this news mean to us?
Do the positive GDP numbers mean long-term growth for the U.S. economy?
Commerce Department releases closely watched September 2026 PCE inflation, GDP data!
The Federal Reserve's preferred inflation gauge rose further away from the central bank's target in September as consumers face price pressures.
The Commerce Department on Thursday reported that the personal consumption expenditures (PCE) index rose 0.5% on a monthly basis in September and was up 3.6% from a year ago. Both figures were in line with the expectations of economists polled by LSEG.
Core PCE, which excludes volatile measurements of food and energy prices, was up 0.3% on a monthly basis and 3.1% year over year. Those figures were both in line with economists' expectations.
While inflation moved further away from the Fed's 2% target, the Commerce Department also released the advance estimate for third-quarter gross domestic product (GDP), which grew more than expected.
The Bureau of Economic Analysis estimated that third-quarter GDP was 3.4%, above the 3.2% estimate of economists polled by LSEG. The BEA will release two subsequent revisions of the third-quarter GDP data.
In the end, don’t these numbers mean, short-term pain, long-term gain for our economy and Americans?
Do voters even care about long-term gain?
Dr. Zitelmann, socialism is a topic being debated here in the United States and the pitfalls of socialism have been on display in France, Italy and…
In a recent opinion piece in the Washington Examiner, you discussed Elon Musk’s recent posts on “X” regarding Adolf Hitler and socialism. You defended Musk; however, you pointed out in your piece that production was not nationalized in National Socialist Germany.
Was it true that Hitler had communists and Social Democrats imprisoned in concentration camps?
Tax and punish the successful, the millionaire’s and billionaire’s in America! That is the promise of socialists running for office here in America.
You addressed the problems with taxing the rich from a historical perspective in a recent op-ed in the Washington Examiner.
One example you provided the reader was Sweden in the 1970’s. Can you tell us what they did and what happened afterward?
Audi announced that it is investing $4 Billion U.S. Dollars in its first U.S. manufacturing plant. Why are German manufacturers choosing to build in the United States and not in Germany?
Twenty-one percent of young Germans between the ages of 14 and 29 are making concrete plans to leave Germany. Forty-one percent can at least imagine doing so.
Even among the population as a whole, one in five is considering emigrating. Of course, not everyone who says they are thinking about emigrating actually leaves. But many do – and their numbers are growing. (your recent op-ed in Townhall dot com)
In the Townhall piece, there was a photo of the Brandenburg Gate; two flags were shown flying, the German flag and the Islamic flag. Is that one of the reasons why Germans are fleeing their own country?
Other European countries have the same problem and are we seeing this play-out on the streets of Paris today?
Can we spend a moment discussing New Space Capitalism? Earlier this year, you published a piece about rare minerals. Not rare earth minerals; galactic minerals. You say that the world can find abundant resources on other worlds. Can you explain?
Democrat-aligned groups increasingly threaten to undermine democracy:
FOR SIX YEARS, THE RULE HAS BEEN SIMPLE: IF YOU QUESTION AN ELECTION, YOU ARE A THREAT TO DEMOCRACY.
IF YOU QUESTION IT LOUDLY, YOU ARE AN INSURRECTIONIST. IF YOU QUESTION IT WITH A FLAG AND A BAD IDEA ABOUT WHERE TO PARK, YOU ARE A DOMESTIC TERRORIST.
NOW, WITH THE MIDTERMS LESS THAN A WEEK OUT, PEOPLE IN THE “DEMOCRACY-PROTECTION” BUSINESS ARE DISCUSSING, ON TAPE, WHAT TO DO WHEN THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT PURPORTEDLY BECOMES ILLEGITIMATE IN THE AFTERMATH OF THE 2026 OR 2028 ELECTIONS.
Is there a revolution underway to seize control of our Republic?
Have the Dem-Com’s created a hybrid candidate; an Islamic-Commie and are those who are being counted on to destroy the legitimacy of our government?
Sofia, Bobby Kennedy’s recent speech on Communism at the Republican Convention opened a lot of eyes. If the United States continues to move toward communism, do you see Bobby as a potential candidate for higher office?
With Election Day just five days away and several of the nation's most consequential Senate races tightening, conservative grassroots organizers…
Women Speak Out PAC is undertaking a massive 10.5 million-voter mobilization campaign in support of conservative candidates nationwide, with a particular focus on competitive Senate races in Texas, Michigan, Iowa, South Carolina, Alaska and North Carolina.
Thousands of volunteers have fanned out across these battleground states, knocking on doors at more than 3.3 million homes nationwide in an unprecedented grassroots effort to reach voters who turn out for presidential elections but may be less likely to cast ballots in the midterms.
How successful have the get out the vote efforts been to this point?
With several key Senate races polling within the margin of error, grassroots organizers believe their get-out-the-vote operations could make the difference between victory and defeat. As both parties fight for control of the Senate, mobilizing even a small fraction of otherwise disengaged voters could ultimately determine which party holds the majority.
What is your army seeing and hearing from voters on the ground?
What are the issues driving turnout?
What are your final mobilization efforts and could they shape the outcome of the nation's closest Senate races?
Which Dan Sullivan are you voting for?
Professor, I am almost 70 years old; I have been a conservative Republican since I was old enough to pay attention to politics. I must tell you…
For nearly seventy years, Alan Dershowitz remained a loyal Democrat—until, in his view, the party abandoned its centrist foundations and embraced radical hostility toward Israel.
Reluctantly, he aligned himself with the Republican Party despite continuing disagreements with parts of its domestic agenda. In an era marked by deepening division and ideological extremism, his overriding concern became preventing the rise of politicians and movements he believes threaten democratic institutions and civic stability.
He observed for years what he saw as a growing shift toward left-wing extremism, particularly on university campuses, and sought to challenge it from within the Democratic Party as a loyal dissenter. But after October 7, 2023, Dershowitz concluded that the transformation of the party had become irreversible—especially regarding Israel and its supporters. Remaining affiliated with a movement he believes now tolerates or promotes ideological extremism, he argues, would betray principles he has upheld throughout his life.
Yet his political break is neither simple nor absolute. Alan continues to support many traditionally liberal positions, including reproductive choice, gay rights, environmental protection, racial equality, and expanded access to health care, while opposing policies he views as anti-meritocratic, such as race-based affirmative action and DEI initiatives.
Had the Democratic Party not, in his opinion, dramatically shifted against Israel, he believes he might well have remained what he calls a “Fetterman Democrat.” Instead, he describes the party’s increasingly strident anti-Israel stance—even among self-described centrists—as the final rupture that compelled his political realignment.
Thousands of Americans Jews who fled to Israel amid rising antisemitism in the US could be pivotal in Tuesday’s national election — and most of them appear to be breaking for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, observers say.
An estimated 3,500 Americans have been making Aliyah — moving to the Jewish state — each of the last two years in the wake of the Oct. 7, 2023 terrorist attacks, and the subsequent war in Gaza and anti-Israel protests across the US.
· Did these American Jews leave the United States because they feared for their safety living in a country were Islamists were gaining power?
· There are now an estimated 500,000 American Israelis — including about 200,000 from New York City, Marc Zell, the Chairman of Republicans Overseas Israel, told The Post.
· He believes that 80-90% of the transplants “vote overwhelmingly Republican” — and they’re also backing Netanyahu in his push for reelection.
Are seeing today are hybrid; Islamo-Communist (DSA) candidates who aspire to bring down the Republic and support groups such this Islamic Brotherhood. Do you agree?
When you see Islamists gaining power in the United States; you couple that with an increase in anti-Semitic attacks, American Jews are being forced to flee their own country!
Professor, you know Prime Minister Netanyahu personally, what is your reaction to reports of election fraud in Israel, to deny him his 61-seat majority?
