Defiance or empty bluster?

Regime in Tehran claims they are still standing!

Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei claimed Oct. 8 that U.S. and Israeli strikes had failed to undermine Iran's domestic security forces, praising police personnel for resisting attacks launched in February under Operations Epic Fury and Roaring Lion.

Khamenei's remarks on X also came as the U.S. Army released a new battlefield identification guide to help American troops recognize members of Iran's conventional military, known as the Artesh, whose ground forces were estimated by the Jerusalem Institute for Strategy and Security in June at 350,000 personnel.

"The criminal US-Zionist enemy's desperate efforts and malicious attacks on the pillars of social order and security, which are unparalleled throughout history, have not caused the courageous personnel of the Police Force to waver even a fraction in their mission," Khamenei wrote in a statement.

Iran's security apparatus comprises three principal branches: the Artesh, responsible primarily for conventional territorial defense; the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), tasked with protecting the Islamic Republic and projecting military power; and FARAJA, responsible for domestic law enforcement and internal security.

How would the U.S. military discern Artesh from IRGC forces, if we do not have boots on the ground?

Iran has launched near daily attacks in the strait in recent weeks as crude oil continues to flow at around…

A supertanker caught fire when it was hit by an unknown projectile in the Strait of Hormuz on Sunday, officials said — just hours after the US struck a ship attempting to break its naval blockade on Iran.

At least 11 tankers have come under attack during the week that ended Oct. 4, the most strikes on commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz since the war began Feb. 28, according to the United Nations’ International Maritime Organization.

The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations said on Monday that it reclassified an incident in the vicinity of Sohar anchorage in Oman as an attack after confirmation that the tanker was struck by a drone.

Local authorities are assisting in the evacuation of the crew, UKMTO said, adding that damage assessment and environmental impact are unknown at the time of the update.

Separately, the Indian minister of ports, shipping and waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal, said in a post on X/Twitter that a tanker carrying 11 indian nationals was struck by a drone in the Sohar region of Oman.

Following an announced deal for diesel fuel between the United States and Russia, Ukraine attacked the fuel…

President Donald Trump said Saturday it was "time for Ukraine to get a new president," warning Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to stop attacking Russian oil refineries as the two leaders clashed over a U.S. deal with Moscow.

"It's time for Ukraine to get a new president," Trump told reporters outside the White House before heading to a rally in Tennessee.

Trump accused Zelenskyy of making global fuel problems worse by continuing to authorize strikes on Russian refineries.

Dr. Graceffo, you took issue with those who believe Zelensky purposefully ruined the deal so the republicans would lose in the midterms and a new Biden would come and give him more money. That is option A.

Option B is Zelensky has an army a fraction the size of Russia's and has decided to do as much damage as he can with his small force, and by destroying oil infrastructure, he can cripple Moscow economically.

Turning to the Middle East:

Tensions flare in Syria's Hasaka as Arab protesters target Kurdish civilians! What is going on here?

Dr. Graceffo, I believe you are planning to travel to this region soon?

Things have changed since you were last in the region. Since your last trip (to Syria and Iraq), the American soldiers were still there. And the Rangers were there and in Syria, the Kurds were armed. And had their own armed forces. That was only one year ago. Now the Kurdish army in Syria, Syrian democratic forces has been disbanded disarmed. We will be dealing with the Damascus army, the government army. When we cross the border, we will be dependent on them. And they will not be providing us any special security detail. And meanwhile ISIS is running rampant and on the Iraqi side of the border. Iran and Iran backed. Militias are attacking Kurdish targets with drones.

A comment on “X:” How is this acceptable? A former General who is retired and still subject to the USCMJ be saying this? This is treason to go against the CIC on foreign conflicts!

General, as you know, just hours after President Trump announced the diesel deal with Putin, Zelensky attacked the very same port which was to be used to transfer critically needed supplies of diesel to American flagged tankers.

Russia responded by hitting a Ukraine power plant!

When initial reports surfaced here Saturday morning, we were both trying to confirm reports of the attack. If neither Putin, nor Zelensky can be trusted, how can Trump broker any sort of peace deal?

Now that the Houthi’s have gone to far in their attacks on the Saudi airport in Riyadh, will the U.S. finally respond, and if so, how will we respond?

Reports surfaced yesterday, that at least 3 B-52 bombers landed at RAF Fairford, England. No word yet if the Brit’s had security in place around the base.

According to a report Saturday in the NY Post, the Iranians are very busy repairing one of their nuclear facilities

‘Significant’ activity detected at Iran nuclear site that was battered during early stages of the war by Israel:

Iran has quietly resumed operations at a nuclear facility that was battered by Israel in March, with new satellite imagery showing “significant renewed activity” and even new construction.

The high-resolution images, released by the Institute for Science and International Security, show “unusually heavy” vehicle traffic and excavation work at the Minzadayi compound, a nuclear weapons site northeast of Tehran.

“This points to Iran’s efforts to not just clean up the site … but to resume regular activities,” the Washington-based organization warned Saturday on X.

Sam, how did you fare from last week’s hurricane in Florida?

Your reaction to the deal announced late last week between the U.S. and Russia for diesel fuel?

Would this transfer of diesel have made any difference in this tight market?

What do we need to know following Ukraine’s attack on the Russian port after the deal was announced?

If this port was damaged and the fuel cannot be transferred to U.S. flagged tankers, are there alternative ports in which to transfer the diesel?

How concerned are you about recent releases of strategic petroleum reserves around the world; that any cushion needed; when supplies are cut-off, will not be available.
